DST Update
2007 Time Zone Update Tool
Beginning on March 11, 2007, daylight savings time will begin. This is 3 weeks earlier than usual, and it will end November 4, 2007, which is one week later than usual. As a result, the automatic daylight time zone change feature in your computer will be incorrect without a proper update to the Windows operating system and Outlook email program.
There are two updates that may need to be downloaded and installed on your computer to support this change.
Step 1 - Update Your Operating System
- For Windows XP
Download & Install Update (KB931836)
Note: When the installation is complete, or if you receive a message indicating the update has already been installed, click OK to remove the message window. Proceed to Step 2.
- For Windows 2000
Step 2 - Update Your Outlook Program *
If you use the Calendar to schedule appointments in Microsoft Outlook, you must use the Update Calendar Tool for Microsoft Outlook 2003, 2002, or 2000.
- For Microsoft Outlook
For detailed directions click here.
Note: This update changes future appointments that you have already scheduled. *(This is not necessary if you don’t use Calendar items in MS Outlook)
