DST Update - Windows 2000
These directions apply to computers with Windows 2000 Professional Edition with Service Pack 4 installed
Use the following procedure to update your Windows 2000 system.
Step 1: Download and install the Windows Time Zone Editor (Tzedit.exe).
Download the ‘Time Zone Editor’ and change it manually.
- Save the Tzedit.exe file to a folder on your computer, and then double-click the file to run it.
- In the WinZip Self-Extractor - tzedit.exe dialog box, click Unzip to extract the files to the C:\Program Files\TZEdit folder.
Step 2: Run Windows Time Zone Editor and set the daylight saving time dates for your time zone.
- Click Start, click Run, type C:\Program Files\TZEdit\tzedit.exe, and then click OK.
- In Windows Time Zone Editor, click to select your time zone in the Time Zones list, and then click Edit.
For example, click (GMT-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada), and then click Edit.
- In the Edit Time Zone dialog box, select the Automatically set Daylight Saving Time check box.
- In the Start Day row, click to select Second, click to select Sunday, click to select March, and then click to select 2:00:00 am.
- In the Last Day row, click to select First, click to select Sunday, click to select November, and then click to select 2:00:00 am.
- To set the daylight saving time dates for another time zone in the United States, select the other time zone, and then repeat the previous two steps.
- Click OK.
Step 3: Apply the daylight saving time date changes to Windows.
- Click Start, click Run, type timedate.cpl, and then click OK.
- In the Date and Time Properties dialog box, click the Time Zone tab.
- Click to select a different time zone than the one you updated in Step 2>, and then click Apply.
- Click the time zone that you updated in Step 2, and then click OK.
